    On 29 May , Edmund Hillary, a New Zealand mountaineer and Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Books about Mount Everest. I am highlighting a few of the books about the Everest that I have come across and enjoyed, whether histories of the mountain, early exploration or accounts of attempted and successful expeditions to Everest.

I will also like here to up to date guidebooks for active use by the hiker, mountaineer or casual mountain. Supposing Mallory, Irvine, or even the Russians didn’t reach the top of the world before perishing, the question as to who did get to the summit first still isn’t entirely resolved.
